“You’re not real,” Steve whispers, pressing the heels of his palms into his eyes, hard until he starts to see stars. “You can’t be real…” is said so quietly, vulnerable and crushing.
He hears the calm sigh from the man in front of him before he feels hands gently touching his, wrapping around his wrists and pulling his hands away from his face.
“Oh darling,”Who’d have known happily ever after begins in a park at one in the morning.

"Like I'm broken," Eddie spat out, self-deprecating. "Like I'm a freak."
"That's not what this is," Steve countered. "I'm scared, Eds."
Eddie looked at him.
"Of me."
"For you."

Summary
But mostly, he’s here, making art, living in the moment. Teaching pottery to the most random assortment of people– especially the beginners course. You quite literally never know who you’re gonna get. He gets high school students (thank FUCK parents actually nurture their children’s love of art these days in this god forsaken town), he gets middle-aged sweetie pie empty nesters who, “Always wanted to but just never had the time to try” (or maybe they’ve just seen Ghost one too many times), and by the grace of God himself, he somehow gets Steve Fucking Harrington.
Yeah, that’s right. King Steve.
And look, he’s really trying not to judge. But he doesn’t normally get ex-Jock, dreamboat, doe-eyed, prom kings to his alternative, community-based, non-profit arts co-op.There’s a story there, he knows.
(Or, Eddie teaches pottery at a community arts center. Steve shows up in his pottery class.)

They seemed to recognise him and stopped in their tracks. Brown eyes blinked owlishly at Steve as he in turn took in the sight of Eddie Munson.
“Harrington,” Eddie greeted, voice a mixture of surprise and suspicion.
“Munson,” Steve returned.

Steve gets his heart broken in two and promptly trips over Eddie Munson. Then that school freak Steve usually wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole offers him weed to forget his troubles.(OR: this is the classic "Steve meets Eddie after Nancy dumps him" fic I believed was an original idea at the time.)

It's 1990 and Steve Harrington is lost. He's got it all- the house is on the way, he's teaching the kids, Henderson still pops around from time to time- he should be happy. He should have everything his small town heart desires and wanting anything more- wondering about it- is plain selfish.
Then a sudden guest from the past wearing platform boots and a wicked grin arrives- opening old memories that should have stayed long buried- and turns Steve's world sideways forever.
OR: Pre/Post S5 Rewrite. Eddie Munson survives. Steve Harrington puts up with him. This story tells their past, present and future- what it means to fall out of touch and get right back in it.
