    A mantra pulsing through his head, saying, he’ll be alright as long as he keeps enduring.

    “You’ll be an amazing hero, Kacchan!” he says, grinning toothily. “I hope I get a good quirk, too!”

    Izuku never gets a quirk, and he never gets a soulmark.

    People get their quirks at the age of 4. This is simply nature since quirks started to appear over 200 years ago. While exceptions exist, mainly in the form of people who are born with their quirks, manifestations after the age of 4 are extremely rare. Extremely rare, however, doesn't mean non-existent.

    Izuku manifests a quirk of technopathy, dies, returns as an AI, witnesses the death of his mother, and discovers that All Might is a horrible person. All this in just two days.
    Now, trapped in a computer, the only way for Izuku to explore the outside world is through cameras and other means of technology.
    He's not about to let this stop him though. Izuku is not someone to let opportunities pass. If he can't be a pro hero, he'll be another kind of hero.
    It doesn't matter that people call him a Vigilante.
    It doesn't matter that the HPSC call him a villain.

    It’s time for Izuku to rush onto the Shinkansen with speedy goodbyes and panicked waves to Hitoshi and Shouto before he misses his train —

    Hitoshi hesitates. Now is the moment to ask — since things have gone wrong with Izuku, since Izuku has started crumbling, they have all gathered inward, clinging to him tighter—

    But it has led to almost no alone time for Hitoshi and Shouto. No chances to ask the questions he wants to ask, the questions that need to be voiced in person. But Izuku needed them more than Hitoshi needed to have all the facts, in the end, and Hitoshi could wait, was used to patience. Patience was something that he had to be able to able to rely on when avoiding the bullies of his childhood; it was often needed to play on his Quirk — patience was what got him into the hero course in the end, was it not?

    Yes, Hitoshi knew the importance of timing very well, and he thought now was the time for answers.
