    Summary

Thalassa, one of Neptune's moons, is in an orbital resonance with the innermost moon, Naiad, in a ‘dance of avoidance’.

Thalassa’s resonance with Naiad helps keep both moons in stable orbit. They have probably been locked together in this configuration for a very long time, and maintain the peace by never getting too close.

Apollo and Thalassa over the years, and the chaos that ensues when their orbits finally collide.

The sleepless nights became unbearable again, and Apollo was showing up to work with dark eyebags. It became so awful that he did what he’d been doing about his family life for years.

    He forced himself to forget.

    Summary

Thalassa’s eyes open. “I had children, didn’t I?” She spits the words out quickly, as though lingering too long will leave a taste in her mouth. She watches his face betray him minutely, flickering with a series of emotions: surprise, confusion, pity, guilt. “Didn’t I,” she repeats.

    “I think so.”

    “You think so?”

And here’s the rub — Thalassa may have only recently relearned how to see, but she’s often overwhelmed by how frequently she sees things that others do not. Right now, she sees that Phoenix Wright flinches: his eyes wander over to the corner of the room, where there’s a pile of plastic cups and a silk tophat resting on a side table. Thalassa laces her fingers back around her mug, and says calmly, “Please don’t lie to me, Mister Wright.”

    Summary

"His eyes shot open to find a dead serious Apollo looking right at him. “Don’t worry, I’ll take you out the back stairs so that nobody sees,” he added quickly. “You’ll what now-“

Klavier let out a very embarrassing sound as Apollo Justice, five foot nothing Apollo Justice, scooped him up and hauled him into the air like it was no big deal. He fumbled to hold on, head reeling for many a reason. “Oh, sorry! You’re lightheaded right? I should’ve warned you,” Apollo apologized, frowning down at him with such genuine concern while quite literally cradling him in his arms. Maybe he really did have a fever because there’s no fucking way this wasn’t just some lunacy conjured up by his ailing mind. “N-Nein,” he heard his own voice saying, “I’m alright. But- the trial?? It’s not over, we should-“ “Fuck the trial,” Apollo scoffed and kicked open the courthouse bathroom door, marching right out into the lobby as if they weren’t the spectacle of the century."
