    “He’s unbearable,” she says, fiddling with her lanyard as she peers over the edge of the desk where he’s attempting to sort through a file, “I can’t deal with any more asshole patients today, Dongsik, I can’t. He’s younger than me and he acts like I’m some idiot. If he wasn’t a dying man I’d be tempted to slap him.”

     

    “When has that stopped you before?” Dongsik joked, glancing up from the mess of papers. Jaeyi glares back, pressing a hand to her forehead. 

     

    “If you take him off my hands, I’ll owe you one. A favour. Anything. I promise.”

     

    Dongsik pretends to mull it over and doesn’t mention any of the other 500 favours she already owes him, before sighing theatrically, shoving the file he was working on back into its place. “Fine.”

     

    Jaeyi grins, and Dongsik instantly regrets his decision.
