    Summary

Izuku had faced many troubling incidents while at UA, there was no doubt. In fact, their class had smashed the record for most villain attacks experienced by the time they were halfway through their first year.

Although, he couldn’t help but feel that what he faced in high school didn’t quite compare to his first incident in middle school. No matter how many times he woke up in a cold sweat, arms numb like he relived his fight against Muscular, or feeling the aftereffects of the dry, itchy sensation as five fingers pressed down against his neck, nothing ever seemed to compare to the pure terror and fear pelting through his veins like a freight train and retching feeling in his lungs.

To most people, the Sludge Villain incident victims only involved Kacchan, with him rushing in to save his friend. He kept the truth of that day a closely guarded secret, holding the real events close to his heart in fear of the fallout.

or, what if the sludge villain incident had more dire consequences?

    Summary

Tsuyu never had huge birthday parties where everyone she remotely knew showed up and crowded into her family home, most only there out of sheer pleasantries or “they invited me to theirs”. She didn’t like the stiffness of it, the odd atmosphere of nobody really talking about anything of importance, small talk souring the air. She didn’t know how to act, who to talk to, what was actually happening.

She preferred the quiet nights. The lights were low, an almost unintelligible hum buzzing from the bulbs. A sparkler lighting up her face as her younger siblings stared on in awe, and a smile burned into her face from grinning the whole night long.

Her family sat in a small circle and watched as she unwrapped beautifully wrapped bows and boxes. It was soft, and it was real, and it was what she enjoyed most about her birthday.

However, the dorms prevented her from returning to tradition, and the homesickness had kicked in full force after she asked Aizawa-sensei, and he had regretfully informed her it wasn’t safe enough for her to celebrate with her family.

or; a birthday fic for tsuyu!

    Summary

Ochako was struggling with her maths work. It wasn't an easy subject to the girl – not like it was with Deku or Iida. It was an endless battle that seemed to drain all her energy till she was exhausted.

Although Tsu never quite struggled with her studies, she wasn’t ever too far from a study session or puzzled classmate. It was something Ochako admired in her friend, and personally, Tsu was the best study partner.

Not long after their impromptu tutoring, Tsu packed away her maths worksheets neatly into a themed folder and retrieved art history instead.

Ochako huffed pettily and leaned closer to attempt to peek at Tsu’s art. It was a huge project they would be chipping away at till the end of term and it made up most of their grade. They had been given a vague prompt: “Create a piece of art on what you admire most.” It was an underestimation to say she was stumped. Normally, the flow of her paintbrush was bountiful, but she just couldn’t pin down exactly what she wanted to illustrate – there was just so much she admired! If only she could get a tiny glimpse at Tsu’s—

    Summary

A bang fires off with a screech, sparks flying and searing his palm, causing him to yelp in surprise. His pen explodes with familiar green sparks, the cogs and springs bouncing off and smacking his classmates dab in the temple. He stifles a snort only by focusing on the smoking remains of his favourite pen. Really, this was not the time for weird One for All shit. (Would he ever catch a freaking break?) His head blows up with half-excited, half-done shrieks of surprise as the boring classroom atmosphere was forcefully shattered by Izuku’s antics. Well, his quirk’s, more accurately. Wow, Aizawa-sensei might be going somewhere with that “Problem Child” title.

“I think that was Third’s quirk…” Sixth whispers helpfully. Izuku could only mentally facepalm.

    Summary

Katsuki had always loved Izuku’s curls. Ever since he was young, the green locks were always so soft and twirled around his knuckles when Katsuki tugged his fingers through gently. He was entranced. Many sleepovers in his childhood were shamelessly spent with his head buried in Izuku’s pillowy hair as they fell asleep. It was better than any headrest.

The problem was the fact that Izuku didn’t take care of his hair. At all. When he was a kid, Auntie Inko was able to run through countless routines to keep the curls bouncy and full, but as Izuku grew up, he had to learn himself. It, clearly, never happened. And with the class living in the dorms almost full time, Izuku’s curls withered and died right in front of Katsuki’s eyes. It was torture. Frizz became a permanent feature, the hair getting duller and losing its shine.

During middle school, Katsuki had constantly pushed Izuku away, so he hadn’t really taken notice of the boy’s suffering haircare, (that was a lie – he just forced himself not to care) but now they were closer, it was like some sort of Roman Empire. And Katsuki might blow a fuse if he saw Izuku neglect his curls one more time.

alternatively, a 4+1 haircare fic no one asked for.

Izuku was standing in Ground Beta once more, two years later. Although, this time he had chosen the spot. In some ways, he couldn’t see this conversation happening anywhere else than where it started.

    Summary

Izuku Midoriya did not always hate his birthday. They were once times of glee and fond memories, (now forever tainted by poisonous echoes of fists and feet and blinding pain— oh, how Izuku wished he could forget-) of comforting katsudon and strawberry cake on soft summer evenings, with a carefree grin adorning his young, freckled features.

    Not anymore.

Each July 15th after that day was met with an awakened sense of dread and terror, bottled up and near bursting at the seams as Izuku pushed it all down, numb to the world for one day a year. No one spoke of “shitty Deku’s” birthday anymore. It was better that way.

or, 3-A havent heard tip or tail of their resident greenette's birthday, and take it apon themselves to fix that, on(c)e and for all!
