They walk down the street with their palms pressed together like they’re in middle school, Susie baring her fangs at anyone who looks at them, Noelle looking only at Susie, breath held like she’s still waiting to wake up from a dream.
It's adorable. They are so obviously meant for each other and Susie has no reason to show her fangs; everyone is very, very happy for them.
Including Kris.
That’s something else they keep telling themselves, another thread in the fistful of truths they cling to like a fraying lifeline: It’s over. The SOUL is gone. Everything is okay now. Susie and Noelle are together and you are happy for them.
Most of the time, it’s not even a lie.
After the end, Kris struggles to adjust. Their nameless feelings for Susie aren't helping.

Summary
After the events of chapter 3, Toriel threw out Tenna before the fun gang had the chance to give him a new home. After being taken to the junkyard, he wakes up in an apocalyptic dark world filled with an endless sea of trash and other discarded darkners. Spamton (along with some other cyber city folks) met the same fate as Noelle's laptop broke due to his virus-ridden emails. When he finds Tenna, they end up having to rely on each other to survive, despite their mutual resentment.
