In Zelda's defense, it really doesn't make sense. Sidon is graceful and princely and kind, and Link is… scraggly. The prince of the Zora was the last person she had expected Link to be dating. But here it lies before her, proof that Link had managed to capture Sidon's heart- and honestly, she still can't fully believe it.

Summary
So far as he knew, Link was the only one who could see the red strings around people’s fingers, put there by the Goddess to tie two soulmates together. But after a hundred years asleep and a Calamity raging, there were decidedly more pressing things to take care of before Link could even think about who was on the other end of his string.
