He almost doesn’t want to open it. He traces his fingers gingerly over the patterns on the lid of the box instead, all the little highlighter hearts, the exclamation points with x’s instead of dots. There’s a quote following the edge—from that one Bright Eyes song that used to turn Yuta to mush—and he can almost feel the sharpie in his hands, the beanie on his head that pressed his hair into his eyes. Maybe if he doesn’t open it there’s some version of him that’ll stay safe in there forever. Maybe he should just let sleeping dogs lie.

Summary
Jeonghan takes his hand under the table, landing it just above Seokmin's knee. Seokmin blinks for a second too long and takes a deep breath, still not turning Jeonghan's way. But it doesn't matter anymore, Jeonghan knows he has his attention and plans on using the years of teasing between the two of them to his advantage.
“I think you were right,” Jeonghan says as he slides his hand to the middle of Seokmin's thigh and gives it a light squeeze. “That night you came into my room.”
Seokmin straightens his back as Jeonghan rests his chin on his shoulder. Jeonghan can see his efforts to keep his eyes on Mingyu. “About what, exactly?” Seokmin finally brings himself to speak.
“Maybe I am just a little jealous,” Jeonghan whispers by Seokmin's ear and watches as Mingyu quickly becomes the last thing on his mind.

That’s why this is different. Familiar, too, the way Yoongi’s body vibrates with an adrenaline rush after a long performance.
