Like many athletes, Kevin is a man of superstition. When Seth, pre-coma, made a sneering comment that if Kevin thought he was so good, they should pass him around like the team's good luck charm and see if it helped them win a fucking game, Kevin initially ignored him. The internalized homophobia in that asshole had been growing by the day at that point. But when they won that night, the superstition began. It grew from there.
