Summary
By the front of the bus stands Meursault. Hair slicked back, uniform clean and tidy like always. In the brief second that Heathcliff goes unseen, he notices that Meursault looks relaxed in a way he had never been around the Sinners. Like all the tension holding him together was never there. Then their eyes meet, and he stiffens up, expression back to the familiar stone-faced look.
Heathcliff and Meursault go buy the morning paper and chat a little.

Bright red eyes lined the inside of every petal, and the stem of the flower was twisted into jagged arms and claws. What an enchanting and horrifying sight, like a monster from one of those childish tales Father had enjoyed so much.

Summary
With only themself on the night watch, the bus cabin is eerily quiet. But the night is peaceful; though the sky isn't visible in the H corp backstreets, the view is still nice. Electric neon lights hum and shine through the city, casting the streets in a colorful glow. From where the bus is parked, they can see people moving about in still-lit apartment windows; a child hugs their parent goodnight, a couple dancing in their living room, a group of friends dealing cards and drinks.
....It sure gets lonely really fast.

Summary
Slumped against Mephistopheles, they watch as the Sinners help each other back up. Brush off dirt and dust, wipe off the blood and gore, checking for injuries that weren't there. It's all performative, but it makes the Sinners feel better.
If only someone would do that for them, too.

Summary
“Why are the shutters down?” He questioned, his own voice feeling loud and unnatural in the previous near-silence. He glanced around, noting that all the windows were tightly covered, not by mere blinds but actual metal shutters.
That’s why the lights in the room felt overwhelming. There wasn’t a hint of natural sunlight shining in.
“Routine lockdown drill,” Park Minseong answered.

Summary
They get an apartment all together, four grown men crammed into a two-bedroom with one window and a questionable single-entry method of a fire escape. It’s tiny, violates several safety laws and stinks of cigarette smoke. It’s perfect.
or: For the first time since they were decanted, the Coruscant Guard Commanders get to make their own decisions.

Summary
When CT-6828 stiffly reported his digits, the officer snorted and shook his head.
"I don't care about your karking serial code, trooper. You need a name out here. Everyone needs a name," the commander said, before handing him a piece of bleak front-line wisdom: “But watch what you choose to call yourself, shiny. A name is just an open invitation for the universe to kill you.”Or: How a simple superstition can write your destiny—and how destiny, in turn, rewrites you.
