Summary
Eddie would never claim to be knowledgeable when it comes to flowers, but he knows what a rose or a lily looks like. These are smaller—a deep color, almost dark brown, warm red undertones. The center is lighter, almost gleaming like little specks of gold.
“They, uh—chocolate cosmos, I think they said? A-apparently they represent deep and everlasting love, but when I saw them, all I could think was how they looked like your eyes.”
Oh.

Summary
“Do something,” spills past his pout, “fuck me, Buck, c’mon.”
Eddie watches the words hit Buck’s skin, watches them roll through him with a voracious, lascivious shudder. The flutter of eyelashes that frame his heady gaze. Still, despite his obvious inner turmoil, he shakes his head no.
“Mm-mm,” he hums. His grip around Eddie’s middle begins to drift, one hand squeezing over Eddie’s hip to trace the line of his hamstring. “Look at this pretty thing I’ve got lying in my bed,” he says into the soft plush of inner thigh, “let me play with it a little, okay?”

Summary
“It’s okay,” Buck rushes to say, eyes like saucers as he sits up, ignoring the heat in his gut. “It—it’s natural. It happens. I just woke up.” He isn’t sure why he tacks on the lie at the end, but no matter the reason, it doesn’t seem to quell Eddie’s embarrassment.
“Oh my god, I was humping your bed,” Eddie mumbles in horror. “Beside you. Like—like some dog.”
A cat, Buck’s brain supplies unhelpfully.
Or, a few drinks lead to a noisy dream and feelings revealed, and Buck has to pinch himself to make sure he's awake.

Summary
“Did you take anything?” Eddie asks quietly. He doesn’t think Buck’s fallen off the wagon, knows he’s been in therapy about his drug abuse, knows the therapy is helping. And Buck doesn’t look high, but there are plenty of other non-narcotic drugs he could’ve taken.
“No,” Buck says vehemently. “I haven’t ta—I don’t know what’s happening.”
“Okay,” Eddie says. He can usually tell when Buck’s lying, and he’s not right now. “How long have you been, um. Hard?”
