Zoey first saw the Honmoon in her sophomore year of high school. Wavering lines like the strings of a guitar or ukulele viewed under certain frame rates. Blue like the sea before the shelf break. It was faint, at first, glowing dimly in darkness, dismissed as tricks of the light after long hours of school and late-night shifts. Even as it got stronger, she barely had the energy to worry about it. Instead, she let it calm her mind as she watched it ripple in idle waves.
