"Bones," Jim's panicked voice fills the space. "Bones, please. I wouldn't wake you if it wasn't an emergency."
Jim's interpretation of an emergency can be different from his own—one dire emergency that Jim woke him up for had been asking if he had any laundry detergent, when Jim knew damn well that there's sample single-use detergents down at the communal laundry room. Leonard is grumpy when he wakes up on his own volition even on a good day, nevermind being woken up unexpectedly. Any of Jim's versions of an emergency doesn't make him any less cross.
That's when it hits him. Jim's scent is strong, stronger than it's ever been in the two and a half years they've known each other. Sharp citrus permeates his nostrils and hits his brain—his alpha instincts and needs flare up—heat. Jim's in heat.
Leonard helps Jim get through a surprise heat. Neither of them expected how their friendship would change after that.

Following up on the previous question, the reporter mentions Carlos’ name. The subtle roll of Oscar’s eyes does not go unnoticed. “Mate, I think you’re better off asking Lando these questions,” he says with a laugh. The two drivers next to him join in with a chuckle, which makes Oscar look their way. He then looks at the reporter again and shrugs. “Typical Carlos. Always there to celebrate, huh.”
