saparata, meanwhile, saw the marriage as his one chance to finally prove that he was useful to his kingdom.
when fluixon finally arrived in theria, he was convinced that things couldn't possibly get any worse.

“Yes, you are. You’re burning up, and you can’t even sit straight.” Saparata replies, tone still soft but firm enough to leave no space for argument (not that Fluixon’s fever-addled mind could even come up with one without sounding utterly stupid). “Lie back down. I’m almost done preparing the soup.”
Fluixon’s gaze flickers up at Saparata for a brief second before he goes back to burying his face in the soft cotton of Saparata’s clothes. “Is it the chicken stock from the grocery store?” He questions.
“Of course not, you hate that one. I made the vegetable soup with rice noodles that you said Cynikka used to make for you that one time.” Separate responds, carefully manoeuvring his lover to make him lie down, pulling the blankets a little further away from his face just so he won’t cocoon himself with the sheets like he did earlier this morning.

In which Saparata is a loving boyfriend and is good at playing nurse, Fluixon is sick and also very reluctant to be taken care of, and the pair stay at home all day due to Fluixon’s fever, but it’s okay because Saparata loves taking care of his lover.
