The Fujita scale is a scale for rating tornado intensity, based primarily on the damage tornadoes inflict on human-built structures and vegetation. An F5 tornado includes wind speeds of 419-512 km/h (261-318 mph) and causes incredible damage, able to mangle cars and throw them hundreds of yards, sweep away houses, and sustain major structural damages to skyscrapers.
