How many times has he relived this exact scenario?
How many fucking times has he relived this exact scenario?
Out of all the people in this universe, out of all the people in this land of Teyvat, out of all the people in Mondstadt, it is only he, Kaeya Alberich, who’s stuck in this time loop. This stupid, stupid time loop.
His face crumples up pathetically.
All he wanted in this lifetime was to be happy.
In which Kaeya is stuck in a timeline that plays on an endless loop, and he’s forced to experience the destruction of Mondstadt every single time, to experience the sensation of his death every single time.

Summary
It’s rare, but there are times when you catch Sir Kaeya Alberich alone and completely off guard. You’d notice that he’s gazing out into the far distance again with the faintest hint of pain seeping through the edges of his worn-out facade of a smile. Then, he’ll turn around to joke and tease and fool around with the unaware bystanders, not knowing that he’s completely vulnerable and open for your eyes only.
(And vaguely, just vaguely, you wonder if pining for a man you can’t even begin to understand will ever be a good idea.)
In which Kaeya's countless prayers to the Gods in the heavens above is finally answered, except this time, it's in the form of you.

After a while of traveling, it becomes obvious what their opponents want after a Pokémon battle. It’s not money. It’s not to trade Pokémon. It’s not to trade numbers. It’s for Makoto. And Haruka’s pretty damn sure that the bubblegum hair freak standing by the side of the road is no different.
