“Well, you’re certainly a long way from where you’re meant to be.”
A voice, calm but authoritative, comes from behind him. Ed’s spine snaps, and his face flushes. Damn, he’s done so well. His touch of bravery was clearly a touch too far. He wonders what a first offence as large as climbing onto the Officer’s bridge will be. Surely, it can’t be that bad.
He turns slowly, taking a step forward, grinning like a fool, because what else is he meant to do? He’d fly off if he could!
“What can I say? Curiosity got the better of me,” Ed chuckles, shrugging his shoulders playfully.
The man, an Officer most likely, appraises him with cool dark eyes, “You are aware of what they said about curiosity, aren’t you?”
“Good job I ain’t a cat then, huh?”

Never in his wildest imaginings—and believe him, he’d tried—had Mustang come right up to him and offhandedly suggest they have sex, blasé as you please, as if asking if he wanted to get a cup of coffee down at the commissary between requisition forms.
If, by some miracle, this was real and Roy Mustang was actually propositioning him, turning him down would be reasonable—possibly expected—and the smart thing to do.
