The first thought that crossed Grian’s mind when he saw the figure on the other side of the altar was one of instinct.
This man is dangerous.

He had a couple scars on his face, one bisecting his eyebrow and another starting under his lip and travelling below his chin. There was a mask looped around one of his ears, and Grian knew he was meant to be wearing it. But it was his eyes that made Grian’s blood run cold.
His eyes were a kind of piercing that had the capability to strike fear with a glance. They were bright green, the brightest Grian had ever seen in his life. They were narrowed, calculating. Cold. They were the eyes of a killer.
