Harry falls into depression after seeing Cedric die in front of him, unable to do anything, and being used in a dark ritual to bring Voldemort back to life and nobody seems to realize. It's the summer after fourth year and Harry gets a letter from the Ministry of Magic expelling him for using Magic outside of Hogwarts while underage.
