Summary
The human kingdoms of Heaven and Hell have been at war for two thousand years, through countless generations. When a tentative peace is reached, the King of Heaven gives his brother and the King of Hell his youngest son in marriage to solidify the treaty. Prince Aziraphale, though he should have been yet another proud alpha in a long line, was instead a gentle soul, misunderstood and largely ostracized by his family. And the gods knew Hell’s omega Prince Crowley was an embarrassment; the black sheep of his family.
They would do their duty, but with hundreds of years of animosity between their two kingdoms, peace is tenuous at best.

Summary
Aziraphale doesn't want to think about home. So he pictures the crystal clear turquoise water surrounding him. The islands in the distance that he hopes to see up close soon. He thinks about the fish he watched dart along the length of the hull and the candy floss pink clouds framing the setting sun. He tries to remember what it was like to see the world as a wonderful thing to explore instead of a gray box he lives in.

Summary
Crowley was here. Here being the bookshop. Aziraphale had expected to be alone in the beginning of his return from Heaven. But Crowley had stayed and Aziraphale is unprepared for his sweaty hair and his pained sunflower eyes. Like a moth to a flame the Angel steps forward and his heart aches as Crowley steps back.
”Oh!” Aziraphale exclaims, his very soul on fire as the skin on his corporation grew cold. “I’ll be going then.” He very much expects snarkiness: perhaps Crowley storming out or saying “it’s your shop anyways.” But instead the demon’s eyes grow big and he takes several clumsy steps forward. He is obviously drunk, the scent of desperate intoxication hanging on him. His hands tremble.
“N…no!” Crowley yelps. “don’t! Don’t leave again!”
