Summary
The Dark Lord has been defeated, Hogwarts has re-opened, and Hermione Granger has decided to return to finish her seventh year. Estranged from friends and retreating into herself, Hermione grapples with her trauma, unresolved grief, and struggles with how to move forward in a post-war world after all she knows has been lost. Noticing the young woman’s exhaustion, Professor McGonagall offers Hermione support and suggests she visit Madam Pomfrey for a Dreamless Sleep potion, so that she may finally be able to rest. After taking it, she stumbles into an unexpected dreamscape that holds more questions than answers, and a single familiar face.
