“Careful,” Dick says, picking up Roy’s hand, “You wouldn’t want anyone to hear you disparage Alfred’s good name.”

They’ll think it was some random American anti-meta zealot. This is worth the downgrade from the far superior League guns he trained with—Dami would recognize those in a heartbeat. The rifle stand snaps into place. The suppressor screws on at the muzzle. Tim checks the chamber, the trigger, the sights.
He sees, through the scope, a little boy’s bedroom.

Damian's grown lax, though. Comfortable. He’s lingering longer lately, and Jason watches on the cameras he's had set up long before Damian's little thefts even began. He lays curled up in the middle of Jason's bed, arms slipped through the sleeves of one of Jason's jackets, face buried in the inner lining.

There was an acute sense of shame making its way through Wally’s body. He felt heat rise in his cheeks. And what kind of father, what kind of person would need to check constantly that his children were still there in the bassinet, would distrust the baby monitors, would surge awake half a dozen times in one night with a panicky feeling in his ribs that insisted they weren't really there? Not a normal one, certainly.
Or: Wally West is the fastest man alive. He's also a father now. Turns out he has a lot to learn from his twin babies. It also turns out nothing stays buried forever, no matter how much he wishes it could.
