The room got quiet before Rumi spoke again. “Your hairs getting long,”
Zoey blinked back, glancing up as if just realizing the way her bangs dipped into her eyes. “Ah… yeah, I’ve been so busy I haven’t had time to cut it. Should I?”
Rumi leaned her elbow on the table, eyes never leaving her. “No,” she said firmly. “It looks good like this. I like it like this.”
Zoey looked at her again, a little unsure. “..Yeah?”
“Yeah,” Rumi said, smiling now. She reached out and gently tucked Zoey’s hair behind her ear, letting her fingers linger. “You’re so pretty, Zoey.”
OR
Zoey's never been the most secure girl. It explained why she was so eager to please, doing everything she could to hear the words, 'good job' from someone she loved. So when Rumi unexpectedly complimented her for her hair, which she believed was long overdue for a cut, she couldn't help but blush.

Summary
“Okay,” Rumi began, standing up and stepping closer. “So you don’t want to spar. Do you want to play instead? Me and Zo can help you work off some energy and you won’t have to be in control. We can do it for you.”
Now that was an interesting proposal. Mira was no longer embarrassed to admit that she loved it when her girls turned her brain off, let her be theirs without any need to be strong or tough. Her resolve was wavering, but she made one final protest, flushing as she spoke. “It would help, but I’m not really sure that I can… y’know, let go today.”
“Don’t worry, baby. You know we can handle you being bratty if that’s what you need,” Zoey purred from her seat on the bed, sending a shiver through Mira’s body.

Mira's visit with her family doesn't go well. At first she tries dealing with her anger like she always has, but it doesn't work. Rumi and Zoey have an alternative idea to help her blow off some steam and remember how important she is to them.

Returning her eyes to the road, Rumi swallowed and asked, "I… I thought you were on suppressants?"
Mira grumbled, "Do you really think I'd spend forty-eight hours in close proximity to you anywhere near my usual heat if I wasn't?"
Pink flashed across Rumi's face, "Okay??"
She could survive another 9 hours in a car with Mira on the edge of heat, right? Rumi could control herself. Mira needed that. Nine hours to home. They could make it.
Or, Mira unexpectedly goes into heat in the middle of a road trip.

Summary
Rumi’s mind wanders, desperate for a change of subject. Her gaze lands on the two women who’ve been repeatedly plaguing her mind ever since she saw them step out of the limousine. Mira grins and sips on her drink, listening intently to whatever Zoey’s saying, the shorter girl gesticulating her hands wildly in the air. An ache settles in Rumi’s sternum, and that thought, that possibility—the possibility that this show can actually work—rattles through her skull.
“Hey, Celine?” she starts, not looking away from the view ahead of her. “I know it’s unconventional, but can I give out two First Impression Roses?”
Celine considers her words and follows her gaze. She presses her lips into a thin line, then she shrugs in acceptance. “Sure. After all, you’re the Bachelorette.”

Summary
It’s not like Kara deliberately sets out to make her life harder than it should be. It’s not her fault that she’s excitable, okay, and she forgets things sometimes and maybe those things should not be forgotten under any circumstances. Maybe those things include, well, housing forms, which as it turns out are super important to submit on time if she wants to not be homeless on her sophomore year of college.
Her sister’s going to give her so much crap about this.
Alternatively: in which Kara forgot to fill out the housing form and was left with no choice but to live in the most exclusive apartment on campus.
