Summary
James has been in love with Lily since first year, but he’s not all that good at expressing it. In a desperate attempt to win her over, he recruits his best friend’s younger brother to write a love letter.
Regulus has been in love with James since his first year, and he plans to never show him. Unfortunately, Regulus has never been very good at saying no to James. Especially when James is the only one who can get him a muggle record player.
In other words: Regulus makes a stupid decision and James starts to fall in love with him.

Summary
When a teacher strike cancels school, James Potter declares freedom and drags his friends into town for an unplanned adventure. James has never questioned himself like this before. Regulus has never let himself hope for something soft. One badly handled conversation, a tearful retreat, and a reckless sprint later, both boys are forced to confront what’s been obvious to everyone else all along.
Sometimes revolutions are loud. Sometimes they’re just two boys figuring out how to hold hands.

Summary
Regulus's insomnia's been acting up. Between the pressure of the house and being heir and the crushing feeling of abandonment from Sirius leaving him he's starting to crack under the weight. After a particularly bad day, he learns of some 7th years sneaking some firewhiskey from hogsmead in and he buys some off them for far more than its worth, and gets drunk.
He decides to approach Sirius. He isn't exactly sure why he does it. To start a fight, to see Sirius's face, to yell at Sirius, to yell at James, he doesn't know.
But he does.
Everything is loud any everyone is so so angry and something already cracking at the edges shatters and he has his wand to his head and he's sobbing and he knows without a doubt that he wants to die.But his wand is torn from his hand by a frantic Expellimarius, and Sirius crushes him into a hug.
Obligatory fuck jk, trans rights are human rights.

“As I was saying,” he continued. “James couldn’t pull me-“
“Says who?” James snorts. “I could totally pull you, mate. You’re just stubborn. I don’t know how you’ve lived with me so long and you haven’t tried to shag me yet.”
Everybody in the room lets out a groan in unison, all muttering variations of I hate you and you’re so bloody full of yourself, and Regulus just muttered “get your head out of your arse, Potter,” and snorted, sitting up to take James’ face in his hands, squeezing his cheeks together. “You can’t. I’m too smart.”
James hums, then he giggles and leans in, rubbing his nose against Regulus’. Regulus grins, cheeks flushing. “I totally could,” he says quietly, voice thick and scratchy.

Summary
“I don't want to lose you though,” James can’t help but say, his voice wobbling on the words.
“You aren’t losing me,” Regulus answers and James relaxes, relief rushing through him until he hears the rest of Regulus’ answer.
“You can’t lose something that was never yours to begin with,” he finishes and James can feel his heart splitting, the fractured shards piercing through his chest as he feels faint.
But he was, he was James’.
James had had him within his reach and he had held him and kissed him and loved him, he was James’ even if it was all fake.
Because James loved him.
Oh.
Oh.
He loves him. James Potter is incredibly, insanely and completely in love with Regulus Black. Despite the shock that comes with the revelation, James can’t bring himself to feel regret or fear. He loves Regulus and he wouldn’t change it for the world.
