Summary
Sonar is a straight man. Or at least that’s what he thought until Robert Robertson, the new Dispatcher, arrived. From that moment on, Sonar’s instincts began to spiral, craving that man like he’d never craved anything before. Robert's scent didn’t help one bit: it was laced with wet dust and ash. A scent of sadness, of depression.
It made him so protective that he would do anything for him. And that was a problem.

Summary
After years of being neglected, ignored, having all of dad’s failures projected onto him, Robert Robertson the Third took control back in the only way he knew how.
Burning the whole damn thing to the ground.
Now a villain, life is actually pretty chill. He’s got a cute dog, a sturdy warehouse, and oh right, a firebrand hero he is completely, utterly, pathetically, maddeningly obsessed with. A hero who plays the moral high ground but always somehow ends up on his knees, at Robert’s mercy.
Damn, life is good.

"You didn't grow out your beard like I asked." InkHeart's voice was sorrowful, "I was so worried, you know. Years without you by my side, and then hearing about Mechaman's crash and retirement. Then learning you were working as a dispatcher." His voice is suddenly a lot closer, dipping into something carefully neutral, "You're so small, now, bluejay."
Something hitches in Robert's throat and he reminds himself to keep his eyes trained on either his coffee or the ground.
