Summary
Something is wrong with Shane Hollander.
Ever since they spent their summer in rut at the cottage, the bite on his neck hasn't healed, and he's been in a funk. Almost like rejection sickness, but not quite. He knows, logically, that a bond can't form between two alphas, but it feels like his body is mourning Ilya returning to Boston even more than Shane is.
During the Boston/ Montreal pregame match, when a hard hit sends him into the boards, something in his body shakes loose and begins a process neither him nor Ilya ever saw coming.

Zane Boodram swung the door open, cutting himself off when he saw who waited on the other side.
“Hollander!” he greeted after a second, voice warm but eyes wide in shock. “Wasn’t expecting you tonight!” He paused for a moment, then continued in a softer tone, still warm but growing in confusion. “Not to be blunt, but what the hell are you doing here?”
“Oh, um… Ily—Rozanov invited me.”
Or, after their fight, Shane turns around.
