The words hit him like a blow, slam into him like a fist, shatter him apart like the walls of ice Midoriya has refused to allow Shōto to put between them.
And, for what feels like the first time in almost a decade, Shōto breathes.

Summary

“He's slightly unhinged,” Shouto admits, “but I like that about him.”
Midoriya flips over Bakugou, cackling evilly as he snags one of the grenades off his belt and flings it at an approaching Iida. Then Midoriya picks Bakugou up and lets out a feral scream as he throws him at Jirou. Aizawa sighs heavily but doesn’t stop the training exercise.
Shouto cups his hands over his mouth and shouts, “You’re doing amazing, Midoriya!”
(Or: Shouto tries to confess by being aggressively encouraging.)

Summary
Izuku chases after Kacchan, stays right on his heels as they both sprint through the gate and into the mock city.
“K-Kacchan,” Izuku calls out to his teammate. “W-We need to make a plan or something. It’s All Might so maybe we should just run ‘cause th-there’s no way we can fight him. It’s All Might.”
The hit to the face isn’t a surprise really.
A part of Izuku was even expecting it.
Was waiting to feel that familiar burning crackle against his skin, the long familiar scent of burnt caramel flooding his senses as pain ripples out across his face like spider web fractures in a foundation.
What is a surprise is the way that something in his mind just...
Shatters.
Izuku greys out around the edges.

Summary
Midoriya shoves his hands into his face. “Okay,” he mumbles to himself, behind his hands. “Okay, okay, okay. You have to do this, Izuku. You have to do this now.”
He lowers his hands from his face, and points dramatically at Todoroki, his face blushing very brightly and very prettily.
“D-don’t you dare talk that way about the person I like!” Midoriya exclaims, and as he gets impossibly more red, he shoves his face back into his hands with a squeak.

The wind was howling, the burrow—or den, now that he knew it belonged to a fox—was filled to the brim with the scent of dirt, musk and something else, something that was prickly in his nose. A scent he couldn’t quite explain. The occasional flurry still managed to make its way down into the den, fluttering past them. Yet, in that very moment, for Izuku, the world might as well have stood still.
“But… I’m a bunny?”
“I can see that,” the fox said as he nuzzled Izuku’s neck. A sharp and coarse tongue licked across his jugular and his breath caught in his throat. “But you’re the one that fell into my den. Even a baby rabbit would know not to bother a fox during these times.”
January, Izuku’s mind supplied. It was January, and it was winter, and foxes would breed in winter.
Izuku had fallen straight into the den of a fox in rut, and right now Izuku was the closest person in a ten mile radius that he could get off with.
