Midoriya looks up at him but he seems confused so Denki decides to elaborate, “I solve cases, in like,” he snaps his fingers, “a blink of an eye.”
“I’m sure,” Midoriya says, turning back to his own papers but he doesn’t sound convinced so Denki keeps pushing it.
“I’m serious! I have the most solved cases at this precinct, like, half the time and everyone knows I’m the captain’s favourite too!” he goes on but Midoriya just hums, not even looking up this time. Denki narrows his eyes. “I can prove it to you. Right now.”
or, midoriya joins the precinct kaminari works at and kaminari almost immediately starts a rivalry with him. shenanigans ensue

He’s somehow worse than the rumours, actually. Still, that doesn’t matter because there’s a sense of solidarity at a conservatory that he wouldn’t give up for anything and that usually includes being nice to each other—which is something Bakugou doesn’t seem to be aware of or at least decided to ignore.
“Pretty good, huh?” Bakugou asks back and Mashirao narrows his eyes because he sounds, bitter, somehow? He starts laughing then, strained and Mashirao can’t help but take a step back in surprise. “Pretty good, yeah. I’m pretty good.”
