It's 1979, and Charlotte Heywood has just been relocated to Sanditon—a little seaside town. Charlotte Heywood has always loved fairytales.
For years, she dreamed of one day experiencing a fairytale adventure of her own, complete with a ballgown, a handsome prince and a happy ending.
Now in her twenties and having experienced a recent relationship breakup, along with dealing with the day to day practicalities of running her own bookshop in a quiet village while trying to make enough money to pay her rent and bills, Charlotte has become a bit more pessimistic about perfect happy endings, and more certain in her belief that fairytales don't happen in real life.
However, when Charlotte starts to see and hear a few signs that she will soon encounter the man of her dreams at a fancy party, as well as hints that this man will have connections to royalty, and she then receives an unexpected invitation to attend a ball, where she meets a charming, handsome man who looks like a prince, acts like the man of Charlotte's dreams and mysteriously disappears at midnight, Charlotte starts to wonder if fairytales really can come true after all.

Yet another idea that starts off simply in my head and then expands into a Drabble Story, as I type on the screen! It always amazes me how these characters continue to live in my imagination. This week, we also celebrated the Anniversary of Andrew Davies’ adaptation of Pride & Prejudice, for me the absolute best version. It was a month after my wedding and I remember tuning in to watch it on TV.
