Post Journey's End AU.
After surviving the events on the Crucible, the Doctor and Rose are together (and in a romantic bubble) when they find themselves in 9th century Norway. When they stumble into a bit of folklore not even Vikings know the answer to, they have to race against time to save the day.
(An episode-style romance/adventure loosely based on Norse Mythology 🪓😉. Bit of action, bit of smut, bit of fun!)
“That’s no ship,” the man growled, his hand on his ax, and the Doctor finally realized what was about to happen just as it was pulled from its holder, and he grabbed Rose immediately. The man let out a cry as he swung the ax, hitting the edge of the TARDIS.
He tugged on her hand, and he said one word, just one.

Mortification creeps over Rose as she realises he's only saying this for her benefit—a nice little reminder to anyone listening over comms or at Home Base that she's not just a pilot, not just a soldier, but the daughter of Peter Alan Tyler: savior of the Jaeger program, and by extension, the entire world.
An awkward silence hovers over the commline.
"God, what I wouldn't give for a mute button," she mutters off-mic.

My head canon is that Bad Wolf made some permanent changes to Rose including telepathy and an extended lifespan. That's only sort of relevant here though.
This was an idea out of the blue and I wrote it quickly, apologies if it doesn't make sense. No beta, we die like Rory. -

“Surprised the Doctor hasn’t shown you the door,” Mickey grumbles.
Jack’s heart halts in his chest. Mickey must have x-ray vision. He observes it.
“What?”
But Jack can’t say it. Nothing is revealed until Mickey deduces it for himself.
“Oh my God. He’s shown you the door.”
An AU where instead of flying away from Satellite 5 straight away, Jack and The Doctor have a toxic talk on the Tardis. The Doctor makes it clear to Jack right there and then that he's possibly immortal and that he isn't welcome.
If only Jack's love wasn't secret.
