Despite her insistence on getting home, Bree can't help but feel like this world is pulling her in further, and her own place in it only means more terrible things if the truth is fully uncovered.

After Bree discovers her mother's death may not have happened how she remembers it, she tries to infiltrate the Legendborn Society. But when she knocks on the door to the Lodge, she's greeted by... a greeter, who asks why she's entering through the front door if she's responding to the job listing. Bree ends up performing the Oath of secrecy for the Support Branch of the Order: home to the people charged with greeting, catering, and cleaning the grand castle-like structure the society calls home. In a matter of hours she's moved to the Harriet House and is living with the other members of the Branch in the hopes of being able to find the truth. But things are definitely wrong with the Order and the way it runs things, the more she learns the more questions she has and with a war on the horizon should she join the Order in earnest or should she destroy it?
