Not in control of her senses, Ria is in a delirium from which she only occasionally awakens. Mannimarco knows this, and yet, when his own dead blood begins to boil, he decides to check on her. What he finds awakens a dark craving in him.
“You’re twisting the truth, my heart.”
Speaking these words, he turned and took a step towards the bed. Once more she recoiled, froze in her motions and stared at him like the rabbit before the snake. At least, she was sure of her role in his game.
“Nothing does not send shivers down your spine,” he spoke on, big strides carrying him to the side of the bed.
“Nothing does not let every hair on you body stand on edge.”
His milk-white fingers raked through her auburn locks, felt how soft they were. Little stems of moss, their leaves tangled in her strands took away from her charm, however reminded him of her in the middle of the pond. Lifeless, lips blue and eyes shut for what should have been forever. On her neck bloomed the mark he had left by pushing her in the beyond.
