Mumbo, one of the notorious villains from Hermitcraft, has kidnapped (and hear him out, because he technically didn't mean to.) the top heroes youngest son, and really wants him gone. In an ethical way, ofcourse. He's a villain, not a monster. But as days and weeks passed, the more Mumbo really wants to kill the so called CrowFather. Seriously, who doesn't report their kid missing or even attempt to try and find him?
Whatever, Mumbo will step in, since the other clearly doesn't care about his son.

“He was almost permanently dead.” Joel looked back at Pearl’s face. Silent tears were dripping down her face as she stared straight at him, eyes portraying her disbelief and heartbreak.
Joel still had one more thing to admit, even if it would hurt her, she deserved to know.
“I think Empires was a coverup, a convenient excuse to die.”
Or the life series winners confront Scott about his self-sacrificing, while Joel becoming a new winner might be the final push they need.
Also, this was originally written because I wanted Scott angst and halfway turned into a Joel fic about him winning Wild life. Also, Evo lore and Empires cameo as a treat <3.
