But sometimes it felt like he couldn’t breathe, he couldn’t function. His past and present, a constant weight that was pressing down on him and he was going to get crushed. But he couldn’t think about that. He needed to focus on training and being the best. He needed to focus on what mattered, not weakness. If he acknowledged it, they’d see it and weak meant prey. He wouldn’t be prey. Not again. Never again. He’d rather die.
