Albrecht Stein wollte nichts mehr als den Tod.
Er hätte sich lieber im eiskalten See ertränkt, als nur daran zu denken an die Front zu gehen und dort unaussprechlich grauenvolle Dinge zu tun, für die er sein Leben lang büßen würde.
Aber er hat sich nicht umgebracht.
Er entschied sich nicht für sich selbst, nicht für seinen Vater oder seine Mutter, nicht für Lob und sicherlich nicht um irgendjemanden stolz zu machen dazu, zu leben.
Nur für eine einzige Person entschloss sich Albrecht, aus den Klauen des Todes zu entkommen, weiter zu schwimmen und aufzutauchen.
Ein ganz besonderer, blonde Kamerade, der ihm in der kurzen Zeit in Allenstein doch mehr ans Herz gewachsen ist, als Albrecht es zugeben möchte.Für Friedrich Weimer geht Albrecht im Dezember 1942 an die Ost-Front, mit dem Funken Hoffnung heimzukehren und seinen Friedrich nach dem Krieg wieder zu sehen.

So I just like logged in but had an idea in mind for this fandom, because it is never enough.
First of all I want to clarify somethings, so English isn't my first language, I've tried my best, tho even after years of learing I still make mistakes; then of course I do not support anything to do with that regime; also this is a work of art based on the movie, so credit to the creators.
The idea behind this work is "What could've have Albertch thought before dying?", so here it is, even tho it isn't as tragic as it could be, but as I said this is my first work as a fanfic and it is also kind of an experiment.
The title I choose is an alteration of "The decay of lying" which is an essay from O.Wilde, I suggest to read it, it's a great work.
Also I want to say that I hope I made the right tags (i wanted to add more but they didn't pop up) and that it end up in the right spot of AO3.
Lastly I would really appreciate if you'll leave a comment or kudos, so it will make me understand what I am doing wrong/right, and I'll take any suggestion to improve.

Die Gruppe Jungs ähnelt solch einem System, die Energie kommt und geht, mache haben mehr, manche weniger, doch vernichtet, das wird sie nie sein.

Diese handeln jedoch nicht von seinem Alltag oder Sorgen, die damit verbunden sind, sondern sind lediglich geschriebene Briefe an Albrecht.
