North Yankton, New Year’s Eve 1989. Amateur thieves Michael Townley, Trevor Philips and Brad Snider are celebrating their latest take in the best way they know how – at the local strip joint. Not for the first time, Michael finds his attention drawn to one dancer in particular and, emboldened by both the success of their most recent job and some tequila, courts the attention of Krystal – otherwise known as Amanda.
What follows is a whirlwind love affair that stretches between out-of-town trips, exposing the frayed edges of friendships both old and new, eventually leading Michael to start questioning everything he thought he knew about himself. Then, Amanda shares the kind of news that can easily upend even the best laid plans, and things begin to unravel, setting events in motion that will have far greater consequences than just the prospect of their impending – and rather unexpected – parenthood.
Love Plus One is a short exploration of the early days, before the cash depot job, before Los Santos, and before Michael and Amanda were thrust into a situation neither of them really knew how to navigate.

In the dead of night, Trevor sits at Michael’s grave, the earth freshly turned. He doesn’t know when his best friend was buried, but he was there when he was killed. He sees his best friend’s mugshot rendered in black and white on news stands. He sees the face of the man who did it, too. Trevor wants it all to be some big joke, some gotcha moment, but now, he’s being hunted by the Federal Government, a wanted man, and he knows nothing will ever be the same again.
In the dead of night, Trevor sits at Michael’s grave and takes a moment to reflect on almost two decades of friendship. He speaks secrets into the dark and lets his grief burn.
Then, he disappears.
