A mostly non-crossover reimagining of TANGLED (I am continuing that story, they are not too much alike), Loghain Mac Tir raises his family in pre-Blight Ferelden with one decidedly non-canon member who will nevertheless be altered somewhat to fit Thedosian standards. It occurred to me in the writing of TANGLED that Loki could very easily be a pure Thedosian mage and still be very Lokian and still alter the course of the Blight significantly, and I wanted to explore that. I used to be quite good at writing multiple storylines at once, but now I can barely keep up with one, so expect slow progress. My apologies in advance.

This is a take on my current Taken By the Wind series from Loghain's perspective. It follows his side of things from after the Final Battle as he and Rhiannon work to restore the Ferelden Grey Wardens.
(NOTE: Please read the Taken By the Wind series prior to reading this one, as it heavily references conversations and scenes from that series. This one won't make as much sense if you do not)
Loghain has been many things in his lifetime, but a nursemaid is perhaps the most ironic of them all. A tireless burden he cannot shake. Tossed about from one strong-willed fool to the next and made to endure mending mess after mess. Though, reluctantly, he can admit to this one being of his own making. Regardless, picking up the pieces is a special kind of torment, and strangely liberating. He has lived so long as the version of himself dreamt up by star struck little children, or historians with too much ink and too little sun exposure. Now, by some twisted turn of events, he has a kind of freedom he never imagined. Tedious as it might be, there is a peace in this namelessness.
