“What’s Schlatt doing ‘ere?” Tommy asked joyfully, spinning around to Wilbur and Fundy, sat at the kitchen table. “Or out there?”
Wilbur gnawed on his lip for a moment before he answered Tommy, arms up on the wood and eyes drifted out. Even with a sure voice, a sure answer of “he’s passing through and he needs a place for the night”, Tubbo could see something off.
He could see how Wilbur’s brow was furrowed, the dark bags under his eyes more pronounced, and the decades upon decades of lines on his old face—seriously, he was, like, thirty, who even lived that long?—and how they almost looked cut deeper into him than usual. It was clear as day to Tubbo, Wilbur was nervous about something. About this.
If it weren’t for the fact that Tommy knew Schlatt, Tubbo might have been a bit more concerned himself.Or

The universe isn't prepared.

As far as this is planned this story will mostly focus on Techno, Phil, and Puffy early on.
The story shouldn't tie really into lore at all, so it's fine if you don't know any, I'll probably be making references but it should be clean, still, can't promise no spoilers.I've tagged it as teen for now, there will be violent scenes, I don't plan on anything greatly explicit but can adjust to mature if I've misunderstood something. The chapter notes will state if there was a chapter revision and on what date. The story and plot shouldn't be changed unless otherwise stated, since I don't have a beta reader I look over the chapters again to make corrections as I go.

The cold encompasses him, wrapping around his body and squeezing hard. He can't breathe, he can't breathe. Where is he? He doesn't remember. The frost of the tundra nips at his fingertips and he's sure his face is flushed. It's so cold outside. He should've brought a coat, or perhaps armor, but alas he had left both of those things at his house. He can hear the sizzle of his skin, his feet searing with pain. It appears that he isn't wearing shoes either.
The subtle meowing of his cat startles him from his thoughts and the small point of a pink nose directs his attention towards a small cottage. Techno's place.
How did he get to the tundra again? He misses the warmth of the nether and he can't seem to remember which way the portal is. His only saving grace is the Techno's cottage that's up ahead. His arms wrap around himself and his cat and he pushes forward, ignoring the way his feet sting. Hopefully it'll be warmer inside, or maybe somebody will let him in and get him a nice, big, comfy coat or blanket. Maybe the fireplace will be turned on, if he's lucky.

The first time he stole was nothing big. Dream was ten, and at that time didn’t go by Dream at all. He merely stole a loaf of bread to feed his sister, and then when he got away with it, stole more. At first it was food, but when he, at the time a tiny, scrawny child, realized he could steal money and get away with it, there was no going back.
Mostly it was to support his sister. She was sickly, and the only one that stayed by his side. A lot of trinkets he stole from the wealthy got pawned to exchange for money to pay for her medicine, until one day he got caught. He was trying to sneak an elaborate pocket watch off of a tall nobleman and got cocky. Dream could have just taken his wallet, which was sticking rather obviously out of the noble’s pocket but went for the prize and got thrown in jail for two months because of it. He was fourteen, and when he was finally released, his sister was dead.
