-Know that anything you have seen does not stop existing just because it is no longer visible.Closeted time traveler Shirohoshi Rei has been benched from the Survey Corps until his reckless danger-seeking behavior improves. It's as good a time as any to take up Volo's equally reckless danger-seeking offer to start studying the rifts up close and personal. And while Volo keeps busy with the Ginkgo Guild, Warden Ingo suggests it's as good a time as any to start their "Path of Solitude"- a series of one-on-one battles with every pokemon in vast Hisui, each containing a different lesson to prepare him for the eventual re-escalation of the slumbering frenzy crisis.
Well, he has been wanting to get to know Ingo a little better. Besides, they're supposed to be lessons. A solid chunk of the roster includes BABY pokemon, for Arceus' sake! It can't be that hard, right?

Summary
Desmond Miles really did mean to save the world from the sun's solar flares. That was what he thought he was doing. How was he supposed to know trauma would mean his wish for the Eye had changed? How was he supposed to know that when he touched it, he would end up in 1190s Levant instead? How was he supposed to know he would drive Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad mad with the need to adopt him?
Whatever Desmond Miles is, whoever he is, Altaïr decides he is an Ibn-La'Ahad and therefore he is an Ibn-La'Ahad. And this Eagle of Masyaf will alter all of history if it means giving his new little brother, his new son, his new family member everything he had ever wished for.
The rest of Masyaf must deal with their Eagle being an overprotective parent.

Desmond was born in Babylonia, the only remaining space station to house what remains of humanity (or so they like to say) after the Earth was ravaged by the Punishing Virus, killing humans and corrupting machines to desire for humanity’s downfall. He never had any loyalty to humanity’s cause of reclaiming Earth and he thought he left that all behind when he left the Commandant Training Program William Miles enrolled him in without even talking to him first.
But now… William Miles is dead and the World Government was promising him a life of comfort and safety.
