Nihal had not even gone too far from the coast before she was pulled under by an unnatural current. She did not have time to cry for help, and her goggles did not help her find her way back to the surface either. It was dark and silent for a long, long time until she opened her eyes again at another time and another place, in a body that was not her own. In a world which she had always known to be that of fiction.
She was a complete stranger now. A stranger to this new world and the people around her. And most importantly, a stranger to herself. Turns out, the perspective of an outsider was exactly what Ulmo believed this world needed to prove the others wrong.

Young officer Thranduil and his oath-brothers have just survived the nightmare of capture by warriors of the enemy settlement of Gorthebar. With the assistance of Thranduil’s cousin Elrond, they then pulled off a hair raising escape. It brought them near enough to the border of the Greenwood to be rescued. Now Thranduil and his companions must relive the trauma of these events as they are debriefed by their senior officers. Meanwhile, Thranduil is worried about his father Oropher, who is leading patrols along their restive border with Gorthebar. He is also concerned about his cousin Elrond. Not so much because of the concussion Elrond sustained in the course of their ordeal, but because that head injury knocked an Age’s worth of memories out of Elrond’s head. As interesting as it has been to meet ‘First Age Elrond,’ Thranduil misses his loving mentor and elder cousin and wants him back!

Thus, the Oath would have been fulfilled and he could have withdrawn into the deep shadows of the Halls of Mandos.
But Fate had long before decided what his end was to be, and certainly not this one, for it was given to him to see the world once more. The Valar would have had no mercy on him to grant him another chance at life to set things right, he knew that. Instead, he had been drawn out of the depths of the flames by the thought of a stranger who seemed to belong neither among Elves, nor Men, nor Dwarves, an existence at first sight intriguing, but then dull, becoming one with her surroundings.
The Silmaril was once again lost, once again far from the hands that bore the blood of Fëanor. And yet, at the same time, it was so close.
As for him, he became the sole reason for her curiosity. Something she had never encountered before, someone who carried a curse perhaps greater and stronger than her own, which should have been impossible, for she was written outside of Time.

He wanted a family that would love him for him and above all would not be FAKE! He had a good life...mostly after all that trash with Voldemort and the war but still he craved a new life where he could be loved and do what he wanted.
He though the whole master of death thing was just a fancy title....yeah it wasn't😬🫣.It just didn't mean what he thought it did which was apparently reincarnation after a long as hell Wizarding life and being reborn into an immortal species! Not only that, he just so happened to be reborn as a character from a book he read as a kid that was on their way to being hated and tortured AGAIN.
