Oh, God, this weird place is Gotham. This city with the massive, old buildings is Gotham.
“Hi, I’m Dawn, and this is Andrew, and we need help,” Dawn informed the adult who had to stand up to see them over the counter.
“What do you need help with?” The adult asked, looking at the both of them with a sort of weird face.
“We’re not at home,” Dawn told the adult, who should be fixing the obvious problem right now. “Can we have a phone to call our parents?”
The adult looked at them and didn’t get them a phone. Instead, the adult got another adult, who got another adult, and Dawn and Andrew were told to go sit on a couch before any of the police gave them a phone. This was the worst customer service ever.

How did Light Yagami kill? Where could the answer even be found? Criminal psychology always spoke of the little tells that suspects give up, damning them. And so L, once again, went through each little interaction, hoping to reverse engineer the methods to find the answer he needed.
Again, thinking through all of the evidence once again, and again, having nothing more to add to the case. Just a little scrap more, and he’d have it. But Kira wasn’t giving L that scrap.
L went out to get some tea, taking a break. Like it was the most normal thing in the world for him. He didn’t want tea right now, though. He sipped the tea. It tasted distant. Like it wasn’t him drinking it. And looking back, it hadn’t felt like he was making it either.
