Summary
The other boy slowly lowers his arm back to his side as he meets Charles’ gaze. His eyes are scrutinizing. “There isn’t time, unfortunately,” he says, hushed, “for a full explanation. So, in short order: my name is Edwin Payne, yes, I too was sacrificed to Sa’al by my classmates at St. Hilarion’s, and both of our souls have been traded to the creature that resides here. Unlike Sa’al, the creature has no qualms about torturing souls and prefers to chase its prey. It will be following the trail I have left behind. Hide here. I will lead it off.”
Or: Charles Rowland is sacrificed in the same ritual that killed Edwin Payne, seventy-three years earlier, only a short time before Edwin would have made it out of Hell on his own. Now, instead of being responsible for only himself, Edwin's got to get the both of them out of Hell. It's not going to be easy.

Summary
Martin swears he used to be optimistic when he was younger. But. You spend 32 years mostly alone, eventually you start thinking practically. Martin doesn’t get things like this. He doesn’t get to stay up late in cafés with cute boys and flirt and get asked out at 4:00 in the morning.
He thinks, as he crawls back into bed half an hour later to try and salvage at least a little bit more rest before tomorrow begins, that he really hopes Jon proves him wrong. He hopes Jon sticks around.
Or: Somewhere Else, Jon and Martin get the chance to fall in love without the weight of everything they left behind.

Summary
God, it really is him. Fine, he'll admit it. He had some fleeting fantasies of meeting the boy who gave him the sea glass cradled around his necklace once again. The one who actually made him feel a little less lonely in the world. But this was a bit ridiculous. He spares a glance back at Jon to flash a reassuring smile, pretending like he's not gathering every detail about his face. Martin chides himself for not realizing earlier. Minus the grey in his hair and obvious signs of aging, Jon really hasn't changed much.
Except he got handsome.
His mind supplies and Martin suppresses a groan. Now was not the time to unearth the boyish crush he really thought died years ago.
AU where Martin is a selkie living in Bournemouth. Him and Jon met once as children and Jon gave Martin a rare piece of sea glass that he now wears as a necklace. Jon is a hydrologist and visits Bournemouth again for a research study and they meet all over again. Some canon-typical danger in a few chapters (will be tagged), but overall lots of fluff and pining in between <3 we are very slow to update but won't leave this fic unfinished!

Summary
The Institute has fallen, and the claim the Eye laid on its Assistants is shattered past repair. They’re free; but everything comes with a cost. Jonathan Sims was Chosen. That is not a bond easily severed.
(You have to choose to Become. That doesn’t mean you can reject it, and survive.)
Meanwhile, an old elm tree continues to grow before the house of Desolation, as Agnes Montague still struggles against her destiny. By her side, somewhat perplexingly, is a rather shabby goth.
Fate craves its fulfillment, but none of its elect are going down without a fight. And none of them are fighting alone.
~
In which Jon receives therapy from a dead woman, a staggering number of characters are unbearably hot (in every sense of the term), and the only thing that violates canon is that—well. Just this once, everybody lives.
