Aesop would rather shrink himself back in his greenhouse and hide there, where no one would dare to disturb him, than go out to the front of the shop and interact with anyone in there.
In hindsight, maybe opening a shop is the worst idea he has ever had. Aesop kind of regrets it now.
Well, he is hiding from something else actually.
“Sorry to bother, but what exactly are we hiding from mister?” The girl squatting next to him underneath the table which is his temporary shelter asks him with a cheery voice.
“..You.”
Aesop and his newly didn't ask for ghost roommate that haunts his greenhouse for some reason called Emma Woods.

Aesop tilts his head back until it hits the wall behind him softly, a lock of silver hair falling carelessly into his face. He lets out a shaky breath, and the corners of his lips stretch strangely.
“I envy you,” he whispers, quiet enough that the words could have very well been lost to the biting winds if they did not linger in the air condensed into cold mist. “Joseph.”
To Aesop, death brings with it peace. Joseph, unwillingly, fails to disprove that.
