Distantly, I register that I am no longer fighting alone, that someone tall and strong is standing at my back, protecting me as I am protecting those around me, and I wish I could turn to see who it is, to tell them that I’m already dead and that they need not protect what they cannot save. But then I think that I am too tired and maybe it would be hypocritical of me to tell them not to protect me, when I won’t be able to save them in the end and I am protecting them anyway.

He remembers. He remembers waking up this fateful morning, the way the sun had slanted through the window and struck the cut glass mirror, throwing scattered glory across the stone ceiling in fractals of rainbow color. He remembers thinking what a good omen it must be, to have gemstones transposed above his bed, for his eyes alone.

Summary
Spock creates a videogame in an attempt to study humans to determine if they are ready for first contact. With the new opportunity to interact with the new species, he joins the game to study them first hand.
Jim catches wind of a strange NPC that hangs out in the IDIC tavern in ShiKahr. Everyone thinks it's defective, but Jim thinks it might be a secret event and talks to him. He's strange, and he's kind of cute in a weird way. Starfleet starts getting wind that the game might be controlled by people not of Earth origin, and they begin to question the creators' motives. Will Jim choose Starfleet, a faction he had sworn his life and loyalty too, or a man he had never even met face to face?

Inquisitor Lavellan saved the world, lost the world, then saved it again - loved and lost, loved and lost. Cruel joke upon cruel joke piled atop each other under the disguise of destiny and fate, until the curtains fell on him and Solas with their blades piercing the other's heart. It was a disgustingly poetic end.
And because his luck was rotten, he wakes at the moment before it all began.
A second chance or a second doom? Lavellan wasn't sure which he preferred.
