Summary
The doctors warned him that the concussion could cause mood swings, especially combined with the pain of his other injuries and his very fresh grief, but he didn’t think it would be so hard. He thought that once everything was all said and done, that he’d feel better—that finding Clay’s killer would be enough catharsis, and that once he got some sleep he would be able to function without this horrible weight crushing his chest or this deep, deep agony clawing at his insides. Foolish, really, as Apollo has lived with the pain of loss his whole life.
--
Or: The dust settles, everyone goes home, and Apollo has the biggest physical and mental breakdown of his life. It's a long road toward actually being fine, but it turns out he doesn't have to walk it alone.Bookmarked by Aro_Queer

Summary
Susie is holding hands with a boy. Noelle wonders why she’s dreaming about this.
Susie falls to her knees and clutches Kris’ limp body and she keeps holding hands with the boy, the boy that looks like Kris’ brother. Noelle thinks absently that this is a scarier dream than she’s ever had, and that Kris’ blood is matting in Susie’s hair as she tries to find their heartbeat.
Then Susie stands up, and Noelle knows with absolute certainty that Susie is going to kill her. Kris’ face reflects in Susie’s axe as she swings it back, and in the split second before Noelle blacks out, there is still an expression lingering on their face. Relief.
or; what if Noelle stepped off the switch in snowgrave.

Summary
The puzzle pieces judder together with horrifying clarity. Standing in the center of the room, she can see the full picture. Everything missing from the phone, the fragments of herself in the dorm, the odd inflection in Kris’ voice.
This isn’t a dream. It isn’t the Dark World. But it is, impossibly, an alternate world entirely.
Kris sighs again, muttering something to themself. “Do you need me to come over? Are you alone?”
“Kris, I think I’m in the wrong world,” she manages.

Summary
Susie stared at Noelle’s contact photo under the call time that she had never bothered to change. It was a selfie Noelle had taken at the Festival. She was in the foreground, arm fully extended as Susie leaned over to try to get in frame, although she was still cut off from the forehead up. Kris was tucked in the middle, head caught under Susie’s arm. Kris’ face was red and their ever present bangs were covering their eyes, but their mouth was slightly open like they were about to smile. Noelle’s eyes were squeezed shut in laughter, despite her being the one taking the photo. It was one of Susie’s favorite photos of the three of them. She hung up the phone.
