"It was part of my Sunday routine. I would sit at my window, and sketch on whatever scraps of paper I could find. I would sketch the krill going past my window, swimming wild and free." Fethry's lips curled up in an unnerving smile, his dark-rimmed eyes wide. "I think I wanted to capture their happiness, their freedom, in my sketches in hope of taking some of it for myself."
There was a note of sadness in Fethry's voice. It was somewhat bitter, but wasn't close to anything that could be anger. Gyro found the change in demeanor compelling.
"Huh," Gyro remarked. "It must be lonely out there. But it sounds beautiful."

Summary
Gyro hated children. They were nuisances at best and reminders at worst. Yet, somehow, in some tiny infinitesimally small corner of his heart he hadn’t quite managed to kill or science away he managed to tolerate them. That was the only explanation as for why he let the girl with a hair bow in her hair, whose name had immediately slipped his mind, sit on his tables and stare around in wonder.
