Dabi caught the heavy packet of papers that Shouto shoved at his chest. "What's this?"
"That's from Fuyumi," said Shouto. "Ten years' worth of medical insurance forms, unpaid library fines, your immunization card and dental record, five years' worth of incomplete tax returns --"
"Good thing I'm not Todoroki Touya," smirked Dabi, shoving the papers back at Shouto.
He got a raised white eyebrow reminiscent of Fuyumi herself in response. "You're disowning us because you don't want to do your taxes?"

The Todoroki kids are convinced that Dabi is one of them, and now Shouto won't leave Dabi alone.

“Are you hurt, Todoroki?” His teacher questioned, voice gentler than anything he had heard at UA. Shouto almost despised the quiet pity if he didn’t need it so fucking badly.
“I’m fine,” He snapped automatically, almost immediately following it up again. “I’m- I didn’t mean that I’m- I apologize.”
“That’s okay. Can you tell me where you’re hurt?” Aizawa-sensei prodded. Shouto heard the low din of traffic in the background and relaxed minutely, though it was barely a hair.
“I think my left arm is broken,” He admitted. “And my right hand is burnt. And- ribs. Hurt. My head, too, I think my face was cut. My legs are- They’re just sore, never mind, it’s nothing,” The reality of what Shouto was doing came back to him as he described the damage, could feel each injury and how it happened. He couldn’t do this, he couldn’t- “I don’t- This was a bad idea, I can’t- Can I hang up? You can go back, I’m sorry, you can go back to sleep.”

Todoroki Shoto will be a hero.
...But not just yet. Right now, Todoroki Shoto is a bitter, pessimistic, hurt teenager who doesn't want help, friends or hinderances of any kind getting in the way of his misguided goals.
Thankfully, there will soon be people in his life who will be more than happy to drag him into a place of happiness, safety, and acceptance - kicking and screaming the whole way, if they have to. All he has to do is survive his first meeting with them and all the incredible changes that will come after.
This is Todoroki Shoto's Hero Academia.
