Miranda was horrified as she grabbed Andrea's wrist, pushing up the sleeve of the jacket, discovering a sickening pattern of deep cuts. The woman sitting before her put her head down, slumping her shoulders as she sniffled and hiccupped through the tears that were dripping down her chin and splattering onto her clothing.
A cold feeling settled in the pit of her stomach as bile rose up the back of her throat. She swallowed hard as she tried to come up with something to say. What was she even supposed to say?
A patch of red caught her eye, then, and when she released the younger woman's wrist Andrea rushed to pull her sleeve back down. Miranda dropped to her knees in front of the brunette, pushing between her legs slightly so she could reach where she wanted to investigate, who feebly put her hands against Miranda's shoulders and begged.
She made no attempt at shoving, though. Her gentle nature would never allow that, and the feeling of Andrea’s trembling hands as she pushed her shoulders against her broke what was left of her resolve.
"M-Miranda, please don't-"
Miranda looked up at her with heartbroken eyes and pressed two fingers to Andrea's lips.
