    “You aren’t going to hurt anyone!” Phil said as he pulled on his winter coat. They’d been having this conversation for weeks, and Phil was getting sick of it. Dan couldn’t stay cooped up inside forever. He shouldn’t have to.

    “You don’t know that! I don’t bite you because I love you or whatever, probably, but-”

    Phil’s jaw hit the floor. “You probably love me?” he asked, incredulous. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

    “What? No- Jesus. Of course I love you. That’s probably why I don’t fucking bite you. I don’t fucking know- But out there it’ll be different, and I don’t love everybody, Phil!”
