Summary
When God takes a sabbatical from Heaven and leaves Aziraphale in charge as Her newly minted Right Hand, Aziraphale struggles to navigate his new role and keep Heaven from breaking apart in Her absence.
Stubborn former-Archangels make this rather difficult.
And rumour has it, there's something wicked brewing in Hell.
A continuation of 'To Rewrite the Heavens'. READ PART 1 FIRST or this probably won't make much sense as it picks up several months after the end of it.

Aziraphale wakes up after a celebratory dinner at the Ritz and finds himself in a world where Hell won, Heaven lost, and angels have been taken as prisoners of war and subjected to all sorts of heinous behavior at the hands of demons in Hell. To right the world, Aziraphale will have to make strange alliances and figure out how to get Crowley, his new "owner", on his side.
If only it were that easy.

Summary
“So… that’s it? We’re just… an angel and demon, following our orders then?” Aziraphale asks quietly, dazed by how the pleasant conversation turned so contentious so quickly.
Crowley turns to walk away. “‘S what we’ve always been, hasn’t it?”
“So, ah, I suppose I’ll, I’ll see you out there then?”
This causes them to pause as the implications sink in. Aziraphale isn’t just going to be witnessing the destruction of a city. He is going to be witnessing the how… and by whom.
“Pray that you don’t…” they mutter as they go. And if they were talking to Aziraphale or to themself, it isn't clear.
In 33AD in Rome, a demon sports a new haircut and an angel (to both their surprises) invites them to lunch.
But this is not that story. This story takes place a few years before, where finally after 4000 years of paths crossing, the two finally intersect. But such an event is not a small one, and takes no small event for it to happen.
